- Make your own homemade protein bars for a post-workout boost. They’re made with protein powder, bananas, nut butter and a blend of seeds!

INGREDIENTS:
- 150g porridge oats
- 2 small bananas
(about 160g), peeled and mashed
- 100ml maple syrup
- 200g almond, peanut or sunflower butter
- 90g vanilla protein powder
- 50g mixed seeds
plus 1 tbsp for the topping
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
any kind (optional)
- 50g dark chocolate
melted
Method

Put the oats in a blender and blitz until they resemble flour. Add the mashed banana, maple syrup, nut butter, protein powder, the mixed seeds and vanilla extract. Blend again to make a thick dough, adding the milk, if needed, to bring it together.

Press the dough into a 20cm square tin lined with baking parchment, ensuring it’s in an even layer. Drizzle over the melted chocolate and scatter over the extra 1 tbsp mixed seeds and a pinch of sea salt flakes. Chill for 1 hr before cutting into bars. Will keep chilled for up to three days.
