• Make your own homemade protein bars for a post-workout boost. They’re made with protein powder, bananas, nut butter and a blend of seeds!
  • INGREDIENTS:

  • 150g porridge oats
  • 2 small bananas
    (about 160g), peeled and mashed
  • 100ml maple syrup
  • 200g almond, peanut or sunflower butter
  • 90g vanilla protein powder
  • 50g mixed seeds
plus 1 tbsp for the topping
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
    any kind (optional)
  • 50g dark chocolate
    melted

Method

  • step 1

Put the oats in a blender and blitz until they resemble flour. Add the mashed banana, maple syrup, nut butter, protein powder, the mixed seeds and vanilla extract. Blend again to make a thick dough, adding the milk, if needed, to bring it together.

  • step 2

Press the dough into a 20cm square tin lined with baking parchment, ensuring it’s in an even layer. Drizzle over the melted chocolate and scatter over the extra 1 tbsp mixed seeds and a pinch of sea salt flakes. Chill for 1 hr before cutting into bars. Will keep chilled for up to three days.
